Media
I’ve been a media professional in front of the camera and mic for over 35 years.
Here’s a
selection
of my work…
…as a TV and Radio host, film critic, voiceover artist, stand-up comic, and singer-songwriter. Plus my more recent shift into podcasting where I bring my broadcasting and production skills to my mission to empower women.
VOICEOVERS
I’ve been a top British voiceover artist for nearly 30 years…
…and continue to bring my dulcet tones to numerous TV and radio commercials, promos, corporate projects - and more.
I was the voice of BBC2s’ Great British Menu for 9 years...
…I’ve narrated numerous documentaries and TV series for the UK’s biggest broadcasters – including Panorama and a surprising number of programmes about the Royal Family.
Here are a few of compilations:

PODCASTS
The Queenager
What can the experiences of women who’ve overcome struggle and attained midlife fulfilment and success teach us? I sought to answer this question as producer of Eleanor Mills’s Queenager podcast for her Noon community.
As both producer and coach, I developed a show to platform Eleanor’s illustrious guests – including Carol Vorderman and Martha Lane Fox. I then devised supplementary Queenager Debrief episodes, where - using my coaching skills and expertise – I help unpack Eleanor’s guests’ stories in ways that support listeners on their own midlife journeys.
Open to Criticism
What if your taste in movies is dictated by powerful voices who don’t look like you, think like you, or care about the stories you want to see? That’s the premise of my podcast Open to Criticism – and the result of 30 years as a film critic and my masters at LSE (completed 2022).
I’m super proud of this four-time nominee of the Independent Podcast Awards. With its powerful and engaging conversations with critics and commentators, it explores how we talk about movies, who gets to do it and why it matters.
TELEVISION & MUSIC
TV showreel
I’ve hosted numerous live shows on national Radio and TV – where I honed the think-on-your-feet skills that are integral to speaking and performing. In the 90s/00s I was a busy bee – BBC Radio 1, Virgin Radio, ITV, BBC1, Radio Luxembourg, Talk Radio, LBC and more.
Here’s a compilation of just some of my hosting gigs – including Top of The Pops (once with Robbie Williams), The Little Picture Show, and several movie premieres - including a special for Planet of the Apes for ITV in New York.
I’ve interviewed a ton of huge movie stars – Al Pacino, Tom Hanks, J-Lo, etc., and co-hosted a show with Prince Edward. I remain a film critic to this day and an active member of the London Film Critics’ Circle.
Pete Doherty
Music was my first love. (That and forcing my little brother to perform dance routines in the living room). I studied piano and violin to grade 7, but perfecting the classics felt uninspiring compared to the pop music that filled my head.
Finally, in my early 30s, I taught myself guitar and began songwriting. I had a blast performing around London, and did a stint as a jazz singer. Yet my stage-fright and panic attacks were always lurking, and when personal circumstances interrupted the flow, performing music fell away.
I’m hugely proud of the music I’ve written, performed, recorded and occasionally produced. Check out the video to my song Pete Doherty from my album Duvet Tuesday.
